Can i breed different species of chickens together to create hybrids if so what sould i not breed together and what should i. I have barred rocks, white rocks, & red stars/golden comets? Will the hybrids be better for meat or eggs? please help

Most modern chicken breeds are only breeds not species therefore there cross is not a hybrid but a mutt. As for breeding different breeds there is potential the offspring will be better layers or meaties. I would read up on the exact breeds you plan on crossing and look for examples of the F1 generation crosses.

One question from me: What is the difference between a hybrid and a mutt?

Hybrids have to be between two different species such as a tiger and a lion. A mutt is just a cross between various breeds of the same species. This is why most Mutts are fertile but most Hybrids are not
