Can I bring home eggs from England?

Smuggling should never be considered a viable option. Laws are made for a reason, plus smuggling is a serious crime. It could easily backfire all over your good intentions. Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
Not going to smuggle them, I PROMISE I am not going to smuggle them! lol

If it were a handful of eggs I might "forget" them in my carry on but I am talking about 10 dozen eggs here, its hard to hide that many. *wink*

Come to think of it. It might be fun to bring back either chickens or eggs. What I would do is first, contact my local county extension office to see if they could steer me in the right direction to find out what, if any, the requirements might be for the importation of eggs or even, birds. Then, from there follow the chain of command, and eventually you will, hopefully, end up asking your questions of someone who knows what the rules are. You never know, it may not be all that hard. Look at all the importation claims of Greenfire Farms :). They talk like they import brood stock every day.

So far I have found the right forms, gotten the correct price for processing them, the processing time it takes.

Still trying to get the information on inspection at port of entry cost and quarantine time, if any.

Once I find that out I will be better able to proceed.

Have to get the passports renewed, plane tickets bought and then, with my dates, get the import licence. Its good for only 30 days and, as we will be gone 45, timing is going to play a big roll.

Really excited though as if I can pull this off, my little hatchery will have some prime stock!

How?

NOT GOING TO SMUGGLE THEM, have to add in case anyone was worried lol.

oh? from the other user's comment .. i thought..

nvm then

As I have R*E*P*E*A*T*E*D*L*Y stated, I am NOT going to smuggle eggs

hence asking how to do it PROPERLY!

Sadly it looks like this trip will be too full up with invalid parents and my kids to fit eggs into but by gum, next year isnt that far away so will do it then. When I do, I will let you all know how it goes. I do know that the relevant departments are none too speedy getting back to you with answers to questions asked.
