Can I change my feed

I have chicks that are about three weeks of age. I bought the medicated feed crumbles and no issues with them eating it. They do prefer it moistened to a thick mash consistency. I bought a large bag and expect it to last to 5-6 weeks of age. Can I then change over to a regular chick feed as I want to ferment their feed? If since I started the medicated food and should not switch.. as what age can they be taken off of it.

I think it would be ok to switch over. The chicks may need time to adjust to the new type of food.

Hope this helped!

At six weeks is when most folks make the change from starter to grower. So that would be a good time to do as you planed. FF is a fun and nutritious method of feeding your birds, I often keep some in my system. I like it and recommend do so, to those so inclined. As you near the switch, change your feed ratio to half old & half new for a few days, then you should be good to go.

Best to you and your birds,

RJ
