Can I do a dirt floor in a rainy climate?

One other thing to consider....I've had dirt floors and I ended up with rats burrowing under the floor and making a huge mess when I had pheasants. Has anyone else had a problem with rats or other burrowing creatures?

That's good to know about linoleum. It is starting to look more and more like we will just stick with good old fashioned plywood.
