Can I eat the egg?

Caught a rat snake halfway into eating my egg. I was able to get his mouth off and get him out of the coop. My question is, is my egg safe to eat after being halfway in his mouth? It wasn’t visibly damaged, just a little salavia on it.

I would not, as snakes can carry Salmonila (bad at spelling that )

I would, but I would wash it off good. It's going to be cooked anyway.
