Can I encourage a duck to be broody?

Agreed... lots of info available on BYC and on the internet in general from lots of different people/sources, and some is better than others. Right now I'm trying to absorb it all and make the best plan I can. It sounds like the brooding and hatching part is the easy part with a mama duck. Now my brain is switching to if I have to modify my coop/run to separate out the other ducks from mama and babies if there are problems later and what the best plan is with the ducklings because I wouldn't keep them.
I leave Ducklings with Momma till she weans them..Around 5 to 6 weeks or it's horrid..She Calls as do the Momma imprinted Ducklings for her..

I never go under my scovies while they are on the nest I wait till they go out to eat and drink go in and check eggs candle at day 7 and then at other times. They never know I have been there and could really care less actually and the joy of seeing those ducklings developing inside the egg is so amazing. Once hatching starts they are on their own.

Ok, another question... I know chickens can lose weight/condition while broody, do ducks? Should feed be changed at all for mama while she sits? They generally get an 18%-20% all flock feed (it varies depending which feed store I end up at) with oyster shells and eggshells on the side.
