What did you do in the garden today?

Last of my seed orders arrived. Starting Monday we are hitting 50 all week. Early spring weather.

Probably just enough of it to kill any potential fruit crop harvest...

Yes. I don't think I'm going to plant yet. And yes, it's hitting 50 every day, but it's still freezing every night. Not going to risk it, but tilling the soil is finally happening. The ground isn't frozen solid an inch down. I can finally plow under all the chicken & compost that's been sitting on top frozen.
And if course the chickens are loving it, being able to go out and lay in the sun & rest their bones. I do declare, they are acting like little old ladies with arthritis. They are only about 1 year, 8 months. What's up with that?!

Onions, it's time to start onions from seeds. Celery too

I found out my 6 year old Great granddaughter's mother is not pleased about some of her food likes. She likes fat on her meat and pickled herring as I do also.

I dont blame them, get the chill out of the bones!! That's the worst part of winter to me!
I only have a hoe for tilling, and a neighbor with a tractor who will do it in his own time. I have to wait. I will probably break down and start seeds indoors next week though, and maybe peas and radishes under a low tunnel.

Yes, I keep having to go stare at my onion sprouts and pot beans and remind myself that the peppers and tomatoes need to wait until March.

Lol my hubby hates the fat on meat, which is mind boggling to me. Our children are about half and half, but my oldest son LOVES crispy skin or a pan of fat... Which completely grosses out hubby.
