Can I feed figs?

Checked the "Treat Chart" and don't see figs. I'm making fig bread and figs need to be peeled. Is it OK to feed the skins and tops/bottoms to my girls

It's 100% fine. Just don't go overboard like I did and give them tons. Makes for interesting poo when you do that, don'tcha know.

Hmmmm, hadn't thought of giving figs to my chickens. I mash mine and mix them with strawberry jello mix. Makes great jelly!

We have two old fig trees that are now huge before we bought the place. The girls eat the figs that fall into the cage. They love them and stand in it's shade and look up for it to drop treats to them every now and then.

Yes you can feed a chicken figs. And corn and beans and peas and okra and oats and oatmeal and grass clippings and grapes and and rice and bread and worms and crickets and muscadines and table scraps and and and and-------

Does anyone ever think about what chickens eat, has any one ever watched a chicken freerange. Goodness Gracious-- if they were delicate as some think we'd have piled up dead chickens under every bush and tree.

Treat chart--- here's what I do, give it to the chickens if they don't eat it, it probably ain't good for'em. So far sitting here thinking, right off the bat I can't think of to much that they haven't eaten. Not one sick yet.

I've tried feeding mine leftover vegetables. They won't eat them. Why? Because they eat their "greens" all day while free ranging. What they want from Mama is fruits, but not so much of them right now either. All the fruit trees are bearing fruit right now and they help themselves. They're even turning down scratch right now because everything is so bountiful.

Before I asked the question I thought about the fact that wild birds eat the figs so I would think that chickens could too - but didn't want to assume (you know what they say about assuming).

I have a HUGE fig tree between the 2 coops and the girls use it as their favorite hangout, today as I picked ripe ones to make fig and orange preserves ( yum yum ) I tossed them some in the run and the games began
