Can I feed layer pellets to my 9 week old Buff Orps

There are starter pellets? Where do I get these, I have not heard of them.

They can even eat starter when they begin laying. It's safer to feed hens starter than to feed youngsters layer feed. When there are mixed ages, get grower or FlockRaiser or game bird grower and supplement with oyster shell in a dispenser that the largest birds can reach.

There are not starter pellets that I know of, but there are small grower pellets.

I would suggest using Poultry Grower/Finisher. It is made for chicks 10 -18 weeks old.

I use starter crumbles which have everything chicks need then at 18 weeks mix the starter with layer pellets if you have leftover starter crumbles. My layer pellets have oyster shells mixed in. I get beautiful eggs no thin shells here.
