My lentils got insects but its not old or expired. I have boiled them and should i still feed them?

They don't have to be cooked, at least green lentils don't need o be.

sounds like extra protein but I’m not sure - but I’d like to know the answer

Boil them or sprout and they are fine to feed chickens as part of a ration not the whole diet.
Lentils can be sprouted and fed , but not all beans can be sprouted and fed.
Some beans carry toxins. LIke soy beans example. The beans need to be heated enough to remove toxins.
Some types of raw dried beans are very poisonous to chickens.

Never, feed kidney beans even cooked those still carry too much toxin.
Lentils are fine, bugs and all.
