can i feed my chickens whole corn????

I offer my chickens some seed mix that has whole dried corn kernels and they don't seem to eat it. I think they could eat it, but they choose to eat the corn that's in smaller pieces. As long as they have access to grit, corn is fine as a treat no matter what size the kernels are.

I wouldn't give it to bantams. They migh choke on it. I've pick of some of that corn before, but crunched it up so the bantams could eat it.

I've scattered the pen with whole kernel corn and the ladies went hog wild over it.
My concern was digestion, however; they didn't seem to have a problem.
We only used it as a "treat" this winter. When scattered in the straw strewn pen, they had a blast scratching for it.

Listening to your story about your grandmother takes me back to a place I wish our country could find once again. People worked hard and blamed no one. They lived according to thier means and sat on the porch in the evening. Thanks for sharing.
