Can I feed my ducks thistle seeds?

My neighbor have me a gallon of thistle bird seed. Can I feed it to my ducks

A bit off-topic but since thistle seeds have come up I'd like to ask how come birds won't come to thistle seed feeders? I've had 3 different thistle seed feeders and bought the seeds a few times, which are not cheap, and not a bird in my yard will eat them. I'm not talking ducks or chickens, I'm talking about finches and those kinds of birds that are supposed to love thistle seed so much. I've finally given up, brought the feeders to the thrift store and dumped the seeds but I wonder what I was doing wrong. Maybe that happened to the person who gave you the bag of seeds too.

That's very strange because we hung a thistle seed feeder and all day every day in the summer it would be covered in finches, they only eat from the feeders in summer thought, they never come in the winter.

that may have been my problem. I never put wild bird feeders out in the summer but I do know I've got tons of goldfinches on my sunflowers in the garden all summer. Makes sense.
