Can I feed strawberries to my chickens?

Great idea using the suet cage! I hate that their treats always get so yucky as they drag them around on the dirt.

At this moment my ladies are turning their nose up at a nice bowl of strawberries and bananas. The only thing they seem to like is kale. And leftover starches of course.

Mine eat everything. When I let them out of the run in the afternoon they follow me around as I lift boards for them to eat all the bugs. One of the boards had a field mouse that was immediately used for "field mouse football"! He didn't last long.
Here is a picture of them helping me shuck scallops they went nuts for the pea crabs and eyes!

Mine love bananas and leftover corn on the cob!! I had never heard of feeding them strawberries, so I wanted to make sure it was safe before I did. And you know...I find it interesting that you feed them watermelon. My grandpa raised chickens his whole life and always said, "Never feed chickens watermelon! It will give them 'limber neck'." Not exactly sure what limber neck is but it sounds bad! lol So, I've always been careful not let them get watermelon. Maybe an old wives tale?

Anyway thanks for the advice!!

Me and multiple flocks of chickens have eaten raw potatoes for 50+ years without any issues. I do avoid the ones with green peelings though. The only thing that I have seen chickens avoid are cucumbers.
