Can I feed them cereal?

I have an 8 yr old who goes back and forth between what kind of cereal he likes. I have a few boxes of old, stale cereal. Not spoiled, just stale. I'm betting the chickens would love them but want to know if it is OK.

Do I have to worry about sugar content or, since it is just a handful here and there and with 50 chickens they probably won't get more than 1 piece each, its nothing to worry about.

Sure, feed away. Just like all treats, moderation is key. With 50, a box would be cleaned up pretty quick. LOL

I've given mine total since it leaves a nasty metalic flavor in your mouth. They were a bit hesitant but would eat it. Side by side with a handfull of rasin bran though, the rasin bran is gone in a blink of an eye and the darker colored metalic total is last to be eaten. Even they know.
