Can I feed my 11 week olds layer feed ?
I'm going to be switching my 21 week old chicks over to layer feed is it ok for my 11 week olds to eat it?
If Not how do I stop them from eating it?

I offer them Oster shells right now.

Thanks

What I read recently is to feed with an eye to the youngest birds. Like a flock grower with oyster shells set out for your layers.
Do a search! You'll be able to read all afternoon.

Thank you for the info I just put out the oster shell for them yesterday
but I have not see them eat any of it.
I have No eggs yet! my chicks are at 20 wk old I thought maybe it was a feed issue or maybe their just not ready yet.

young and juvenile chickens should not have oyster shell; they extra calcium causes (I believe) kidney failure. Search on here to find it, but I'm fairly sure that's the issue. They shoud not have it until at least 18 weeks.
