Can I fix this?

My broody hen is sitting on six chicken eggs and 1 duck egg. If I take the chicks from her when they hatch, will she keep sitting and hatch out the duckling?

Why would you want to take the chicks ? She will do a great job tending to them and sitting on eggs. it might make her ignore the Duck egg too .. Are you giving the Duck egg a little extra moisture . I read to spritz it once a day if attempting to have a broody hen hatch it . I only tried it once so far. ( And I didnt have luck that time )

I just want to give the duck a chance at life. I have not been spritzing the egg, is that necessary?
