Can I get the color mutations in Jumbo Coturnix and good books on them

Either way, the end result was a white bird.

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL STATEMENT...

ANYONE THAT TELLS YOU THEY HAVE ORIGINAL TEXAS A&M QUAIL AND THEN SHOWS YOU A WHITE BIRD WITH OR WITHOUT A COLOR SPOT IS LYING! THE ORIGINAL TEXAS A&M (THE STRAIN RELEASED FROM THE UNIVERSITY BREEDING PROGRAM TO THE COMMERCIAL HATCHERIES WAS A JUMBO BROWN BIRD! NOT WHITE. THE WHITE CHANGE OCCURED SOME YEARS LATER AT THE COMMERCIAL HATCHERY LEVEL
IT STANDS CORRECT

THE POINT IS "ORIGINAL TEXAS A&M'S" WERE NEVER WHITE. IT WAS A DESIGN THAT WAS LATER IMPLEMENTED BY THE COMMERCIAL MEAT INDUSTRY AFTER THE ORIGINAL STRAIN WAS RELEASED FROM THE UNIVERSITY PROGRAM.

And where does that come from?

Not trying to be rude to you or anyone else, but I think you're the only one referring to the 'original' A&M. You know as well as I that when people refer to 'Texas A&M' quail they are talking about a large, white bird.

YES SHEELEY I DO KNOW THAT, AS WELL AS MANY DOLTS THAT CALL ANY COTURNIX OF ALL SIZES AND COLORS PHAROAH QUAIL. THE ORIGINAL POST YOU QUESTIONED SO THOUROUGHLY WAS IN RESPONSE TO SOMEONE ELSE'S QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ALLEGED "WHITE MEAT COTURNIX MYTH" THAT CONTINUES TO BE PERPETUATED TO THIS DAY BY EITHER IRRESPONSIBLE, OR UNETHICAL, OR UNEDUCATED BREEDERS. ALL I WAS DOING WAS POINTING OUT THE FACTS AS BACKED UP BY PRINTED SOURCES (SITED HERE). LETS FACE IT THIS POOR SPECES HAS MORE SLANG OR INCORRECTLY APPLIED NAMES THAN A RENTED MULE OR A USED CAR FROM HERTZ
smile.png
AND ALMOST AS MANY MYTHS/ UNTRUTHS/ MISCONCEPTIONS.... PERSONALLY I LOVE THEM FOR WHAT THEY ARE AND DONT BELIEVE IN MARKETING THEM AS ANYTHING OTHER THAN THEIR REAL NATURE. MAYBE I'M JUST TOO HONEST FOR THE COTURNIX QUAIL TRADE??

I think the question may have been, "where does that come from?" --- the "that" being the printed source referenced when backing up the statement in post #10. What outside source is there that they were brown? Was it is a press release from A&M?

I'm not arguing, as I know nothing, just trying to clarify what might have been a miscommunication rather than neccessarily a disagreement.
