Can I have chickens

I just moved into Bass River Nova Scotia in January. Where would one go to find out if I would be allowed to raise a flock of chickens here.

We don't even have a acre, and we can have chickens. A lot of our neighbors have chickens too.

I have 1.3 acres but I think it maybe zoned residential . That's why I am curious about getting them
