*revvingup the blender, loading it with ice, a special pinch of gold glitter with a speck of red, mixing on high speed until it is smoooooth, and pouring it into a ceramic cup hand painted with the image of a horse with feathers around its hoof, (a sorta horse-cochin to BYCers), adding the paper umbrella with the BYC logo, and leaving it on the counter with a note that says "Enjoy!"
Well, I wait all day for them to call me and tell me what the hemoglobin is... They never called. Hubby gets out of work, we get everyone in the car and drive to the Dr.s after dropping the kids with a sitter.
They are closed. They changed their hours from closing at 9pm on a Sat to closing at 4pm on a Sat. (It's a walk-in clinic that I go to for one particular Dr. that I have seen since I was 11). LUCKILY there were still people in there and we knocked on the door and flagged down a nurse. We told her that we had called earlier and that no one called us back and we had come in for a re-check only to find them closed. It's a big deal because we drive 40 minutes each way just to get to this place.
She goes back in and pulls my chart and tells me that my hemoglobin was fine, but that my CBC was off. She asked if I ever have really super heavy menstural periods, to which I told her, yeah that in the past I have had times where I had my period for 3 months straight and they never found a reason.... She said that it wasn't horribly off and was really common in younger women, to come back and they would probably just put me on Iron pills.
She also told me THAT MY LYME IS NEGATIVE and that I'm still in remission! This is the longest I have gone without a Lyme flair up
Usually I test positive about once a year and need to take 3-4 heavy oral and IV antibiotics to get it under control again.
WHEW! I'll get tested again in 6 months. Hopefully it's still - then too!
Thanks guys
