Can I justify a LAYING flock of EEs?

I have 3 EE's I got from MPC. They are laying very reliably. I'm getting about 4-5 eggs per hen per week. They are still pullets so their eggs are on the small side but they're getting up there. I can't tell who's laying what so I may have an underachiever and an overachiever in the mix but I'm happy.

Yes you can, I just love my EE's I have 9 and they all have wonderful silly and sometimes goofy personalities, as well as they are great layers. From my 9 I get about 6-7 eggs a day. Just gotta love those beautiful birds and beautiful eggs.

Most of my EE's are from Ideal and everyone one of them lays a bluish/greenish egg.

OH! and by the way, I have a really pretty EE hen and she lays a big, beautiful, greenish egg at least every other day. I would say average 4 eggs per week.

Love my EE's. They are my best layers and the eggs are huge and gorgeous. I have a couple Leghorns and while they are finally starting to lay daily, their eggs are much smaller than my EE's. I have 3 that are almost 2 yrs old and they just went through a molt and are back laying as regular as clockwork. Probably 5-6 a wk. Love their personalities too. I believe mine are from Ideal as we got them at Atwoods and/or Tractor Supply.

I guess it depends what you want.

I like a colorful egg basket and interesting looking birds. I don't mind having a few more birds to get the number of eggs I need.

If you're purely concerned about the amount of eggs then go with a sexlink or leghorn. If you want color then why not try them? You can't beat birds with beards & muffs - they're so cute.

Thank you, again.

Now, about Ari the EE hen:

where did you get her?

Junie is cute. Funny, as a boy my nickname was Juney. In fact some of my siblings still call me that as a term of endearment!
