Can I keep 3 cockerells together?

I have 3 "Special Needs" Cockerells. They are Production Reds and are missing significant portions of their feet and one is missing part of of a wing. Because they have trouble walking sometimes, don't perch well or fly well, I have segregated them from my other chickens. They are wonderful birds who have fought hard to survive so I really hate to dispatch them. However, my fear is that they will be mistreated by the healthy chickens and may even be killed because of their disability.

Here are my questions:
  • Am I right to keep them separated from the healthy chickens?
  • Can I keep them together as a flock as long as I don't introduce any pullets to the group?
  • If I have to eliminate 2 of them, should I find a pullet companion for the one I end up keeping?
I want them to be happy and plan to keep them as pets, if at all possible. Does anyone have any suggestions, comments or ideas?

I have three roosters living together now and they are fine. They're will probably be "arguments" for dominance and a tiff here and there but other than that they should be fine, especially if they've been raised from a young age together. I would keep them away from the bigger healthier chickens. I had a half blind chicken once and she got picked on so much that I had to give her to someone with less chickens who were a bit nicer. Maybe when they're older and stronger they could go in with the others but it mostly depends on how nice or not nice your chickens are and how they behave. If you do keep all three and want to add pullets for them your probably going to have to give them at least 3 girls each. Don't quote me on that its just what I'm guessing, good luck!
