Can I keep a lost pigeon?

No disrespect when saying this! But my barn cats are pretty good hunters. They show up with mice, squirrels, rabbits, mockingbirds, blue jays, and when I went to pick up the pigeon initially, my barn cat was crouched down a few feet away. She’s been raised to kill, and I’m worried if the pigeon sticks around, she’ll kill it.

That looks good but I think the framing of the prefab is too weak (it’s four years old with thin framing). My idea was to funnel the existing coop into a large open area for flying. Basically building a mini aviary and attaching the coop to it. Another question, is there anything I should worry about when introducing another pigeon to him? And should I get just one or multiple? Thank you for all your help!

That is what I did. Attached a 4x8 dog kennel to my loft for the aviary. My birds love it!

If you can get one bird of the opposite gender that would be fine. Or you can get an assortment to try and ensure you have some of each gender. Warning - they breed like crazy so you may have to swap out fertile eggs for fakes to prevent overpopulation.

After a few days eating with you I'd hope to see his poop change from green to darker color?

I recommending contacting the ARPU, if that's what it's from. You see, due to the high number of birds bred this year with people being bored, not all of them for registered to a owner. One I found this year wasnt, but when I went farther and contacted the ARPU, they found the owner. I ended up keeping it, as the owner didn't need it.

so PLEASE try to find the owner some more, chances are though, you will be able to keep it in the end!

Looked into it, I ended up typing the code wrong! Messaged the email attached and as expected, did not want the pigeon. I went ahead and bought a male pigeon (turns out the original pigeon is a female). I’ll be building an aviary for the two of them soon! I’ll keep everyone updated-

1. How will I know if they’ve bonded?
2. Why does my male start shaking slightly whenever the female approaches?
3. When should I put a nest in for them?

Slight trembling/shaking I usually interpret as anticipatory excitement.
Just keep watching them and you will know when they've bonded!

Perry is the gray female. Pedro is the new white male. I put some seeds and grains on the ground because I read they like to forage. They’ve been getting close to each other.

I'd suggest to let it continue on its way but that doesn't mean you can't feed it and give it water and let it have some strength first.

And then since your interest in pigeons has been initiated, then try to get your own pigeons to start raising them up.
