Hello! I have a couple of questions. I’m considering raising male BB turkeys next year for meat. I know blackhead can be a problem. I also know turkeys can pick on chickens. Ideally they’d all free range together. But I realize that could be problematic. What are your suggestions? They would not share the same coop. Also, maybe my more important question is.. if I have them separated by runs or fencing that run along side each other, would the turkeys fight each other because there are females present even though they’re not turkeys? I want to be safe for all the birds and minimize any fighting between them.

That’s true. I didn’t think if that. Do you think they would pick on the smaller birds as they get bigger?
Yes. Turkey's are usually not friendly with other birds. Mine only does okay because he's had health issues and can't move fast enough or steady enough to cause problems

When we had a turkey he was friendly with the chickens, but was so huge he could have hurt them easily just by accident. The chickens thought he was terrible and kept trying to kill him.
