it's like being locked in a closet and let out in the rest of the house every other day.... plenty of room when your'e out and cramped when you aren't

Free ranging offers up enough perils, you have to expect a certain loss to predators. Of course, that is one way to keep numbers in balance. It's always good to have a sizeable run with COVER for times when security is necessary.

All in all if you cramp your birds, there will be consequences!! I had too many and they picked each other something fierce! Everything was well when I downsized!

I think my hens are actually comfortable the way they are, I never have squabbles, and they all are in perfect condition. I think I will consider adding a run though. Thanks

What do ya'll think about a small 200 square foot run, just to give them some room when they aren't free ranging.
