Can I leave my 4 hens in their coop for 3 days over Thanksgiving?

I did do that once

I was called out of town right when I had some chicks hatching. Very special chicks - the last 4 eggs from my 7 year old RIR girl and her handsome 6 year old red sex link 'man'. Coyotes razed the coop and killed all the adults and all I had left was these 4 eggs. Well, I scooped them up and their surragate mom, threw them in a vari-kennel and took them with me. They even had an impromptu visit to my friend's daughter's kindercare class!

A great time was had by all and all the babies were very carefully handled.

Seriously, though, I think your answer lies in the size of your coop. If they have lots of space and some distractions they'll be fine. I love the idea of hanging a cabbage.

Given that the vast majority of chickens raised in this country live in wire boxes, your's will be just fine for a few days. My neighbors (with whom I trade cat-care) are happy to add chickens to the list, plus they keep the eggs.

If you have a single waterer, you might want to consider setting up a second one, just in case one gets knocked over. Three days would be a long time to go without water. I'd also make sure there was more than one filled feeder, just in case.
