Excellent!!they’re starting to pick the roost now
How far from wall is that top roost?
Best if it's 12" or more.

oh, i honestly don’t know. the coop and everything in it was built by the previous owners. i’d have to measure it to find out. though, it looks like it’s a little under 12”. they all prefer the top two rungs, so i never thought it was a problem. why does it need to be that far away from the wall?Excellent!!

Yes you can i put mine together at 3wksI was just wondering if it was time to let my 4 10 week old leghorn pullets in with the rest of the flock — who are all 20-21 weeks old — or should I still wait until they are a little bigger? They’ve been able to see each other through the wire of the brooder for around 3-4 weeks now, so it’s not like they are completely unfamiliar with each other. The pullets are able to get up on the roost, so I assume they’d be able to get away from the big chickens if they start getting bullied some but I’m still not sure if it’s a good idea to let them in together just yet.
You have an awesome coop how well does your feeders workthere are 15 of the 20-21 week old chickens and the coop is 15x12, if I’m not mistaken. There isn’t any issue of overcrowding ( at least, i don’t think there is ) and I don’t have a run because I let them free-range. If need be, the pullets would have a lot of places to hide around the barn to get away from the big chickens, so they’re good on that aspect as well. I let them out a little bit ago and it seemed like they were ignoring the pullets.
