can I let my bantams out in my yard?

I let my bantams free range, but they tend to stay very close to the house. Some of them haven't even left the back yard. On the other hand, they fly like the wind and could possibly get away from predators so I don't clip their wings. They are starting to "sneak" into the front yard to mingle with the large chickens, but they'll dash back to the back yard if anybody so much as runs at them for pecking order instruction!

Thank you all for giving me some great insite! I am just so clueless

But I am supper excited to get my chicks!

About 99% of my flock are bantams at the moment and they are totally freerange. They refuse to go in the coop so they don't have much choice, they are excellent foragers and can fly quite high. Mine roost about 20 feet off the ground in a tree so I don't think a 4-6 foot fence will hold them if u don't clip their wings.

My Bantams have been free ranging with my standards for about 2 or 3 weeks now. My smallest Bantam is an Old English Game. I haven't had any problems with anything bothering them yet. (and I hope I never do!) My yard isn't fenced in and I am surrounded by woods. My dogs help me keep an eye on them. I wouldn't clip their wings because if they did have to get away from a predator, they wouldn't be able to.
