Also make sure if you have male ducks there are females if a male duck mates with a hen it can cause prolapse since the duck has *ehm* "parts" unlike chickens (just trying to help)

It Probably depends on the rooster I have 5 Muscovy Ducklings in the chicken coop in a pen in the back and my roommates Silkie rooster was hanging out with them and they were following him around. And I have been jumped at by a couple of bantam Roosters for picking up the Ducklings. They start peeping and the rooster came running to defend them . my Japanese hen who is very broody inclined went in there and started showing them where the food was. And they followed her around too.

The white blurry bird is one of my bantams and there are chicks in there too, but they roost on the board in the back there at night away from ducky messes .
