I'm looking at possibly getting a duck, but only if I can put it with my chickens. I would be getting a female and putting her in with a flock of around 25 chickens 2 of whom are roosters. Is this feasible?

I was hoping that putting a duck in with chickens would be sufficient for company. Obviously while I'm integrating it, it'd be a bit lonely, but I've done it with chickens. Thoughts?Ducks are social animals, so you MUST get at least two ducks. Preferably three, so if something happens to one, the other two will still have each other.
That said, yes, you can keep ducks with chickens. I myself have chickens and ducks that share a coop. Ducks are very messy with their water, however, so you will want to keep all sources of water outside the coop, because a wet coop is no good for chickens.
Chickens don't have the same behavior or language. It would like you being dropped in a country that doesn't speak your language, lots of people but isolation.I was hoping that putting a duck in with chickens would be sufficient for company.
