Can I put both quail and chicken in a single cage??

Hi,

I have several quails and chickens. Is it possible to put them together in a single cage which has enough space for them?? Or it will cause any problems for quails??

I’ve heard that chickens can pass on a particular illness to quail, but can’t remember what, and I don’t think it’s common.

There is a size difference between the quail and chickens, so I would make sure the quail can hide from the chickens if need be.

Chickens perch, but quail do not. Chickens lay eggs in nests, but not all quail do.

Quail need a higher protein feed, preferably “game bird” feed.

Both do tend to have a pecking order, and I would be cautious with cage/ run size.

How many chickens and quail? Indoors (including garage or barn) or outdoors?
