Can I put my turning tray in halfway through incubation? Will it lower my hatch rate, or help it?

I have a turning tray for my incubator, but I have been turning my eggs by hand every 8 hours for the past week. Can I put my turning tray in really fast? Will it hurt, or help? Just really want the most of my game to hatch.

If you hurry real fast you might break some eggs. If you take your time and install it correctly it certainly will not hurt. Will it help the hatch? probably not, turning them every 8 hours works really well too. But at least you don't have to set your alarm. To me, that is a benefit.

You are probably brooding in your house with a temperature in the 70's Fahrenheit. A broody hen would probably leave her nest for about 45 minutes or more once a day to eat, drink, and poop in those temperatures. As long as you don't get ridiculous about it, there is no reason to rush. The eggs will be fine.

tha nk you so very much

thank you so very much!

I agree...using your turner shouldn't hurt anything.
Just take your time and be very carefully installing it and putting the eggs back in.

What day are your eggs on?
How many are you hatching?

Good luck!

What brand incubator do you have?
Make sure you have good working/calibrated thermometers and humidity gauges.

i don't know what the brand is. it was made in china, holds 48 eggs, it's plastic with a yellow top. It just says egg incubator. I ordered it off ebay. I have a little giant still air incubator too. I have 36 eggs in it.
