Can I put them in with the others?

I know there are other threads on here but I had some questions.

Last Sunday I got 6 Cornish X's and 4 RIR chicks and they have been together for a week with no issues, the Cornish X are getting bigger by the minute and the RIR's are growing slowly like always.

Today I picked up four black sex link pullets that are a little bit smaller than the RIR's but quite a bit smaller than the Cornish X's

Do you think its a good idea to put the new chicks in with the RIR and the CC or take the CC's out and keep the RIR's and BSL's together?

It's really going to depend on the birds, sometimes they are mellow enough to accept newcomers, and other times they will pick at them and trample on them. Personally, I'd start by trying the Cornish in their own place and putting the smaller breeds together to see if that works. Those Cornish, since they get so big so fast, might start trampling the smaller ones, either on purpose or accidentally. If the reds won't get along with the new ones, they'll need to be separated. They will probably pick on the new ones a little at first and then get over it, so just keep a close eye on them for a while to be sure they aren't doing any serious harm.

Okay, thanks for the speedy response, they did kinda check them out at first and then just kinda separated into "gangs" of different breeds lol. I took the cornish out because they were trying to play with them I guess, they kept "goosing them" trying to get them to move because the lil blackies just sat there scared lol. The cornish need more running room anyway so I will just get them into a bigger tote until they are ready to go outside

I would take the Cornish X out or the brooder. They grow much faster than pullets. I would put the RIR's and the BSL in the brooder and relocate the CX.

I'm in a similar situation... Last Saturday I got only my partial shipment of Buff O's.... 2 chicks.. shipped from Missouri to Maine.... I think I'm lucky they survived. Now this Saturday the remaining 3 chicks should arrive. I really hope I don't have a problem putting them together..

I took them outside to play in the grass earlier and they seem to be getting along OK but they are too big to be in with them anyway
