Can I raise a potential cockrel to be a friendly rooster?

Hi everyone. So I think one of my chicks (Thyme) is a male :he. Thyme is already not good with people. It doesn't want touched, but it will come up and peck my arm when I try hand feeding them; and looks at us with a weird look on their face (like it's trying to seeing how to get up and peck it). Is there anyway I can get it to be nice when it's grown?
Thanks all

I would love to hear what other people say as well. I have what I'm now assuming is a roo. In the last week he has gotten awful to pick up and very skidish when previously he never minded being picked up by myself or my young kids.

Nice is a misnomer... respectful is more accurate. :)

Here is a recent thread with lots of discussion... I haven't reviewed it yet... but with so many responses, there should be lots of good information.

With ALL things... what works for one may or or may not work for another. So it's key to try and figure out what will work for you and your bird!

Another link... though "dominance" training did NOT work for me (post 18 I believe is the one so many are fond of)...

After the first lap rooster that attacked me when my back was turned once his hormones kicked in... I don't raise lap roosters any more... and haven't been attacked even though I've raised probably a hundred past their teenage hormonal influence.

Good luck! :fl
