Can I see a picture of your eggs?

Ever since my hens were diagnosed with cocci and worms, I’ve been suspicious of my eggs. Are they normal? What’s that white mass beside the yoke? I’m not concerned of the blood speck... just that mass.

When you crack your eggs this morning, please post a pic so I can compare yours to mine. Thank you.

That is the chalaza it helps to stabilize the yolk in the egg - completely normal.

I'm so glad to hear that. I never questioned it before. It's funny how things work on your mind...

Yes, chalaza. I argued with my sister for months, she kept saying it was the beginning of a baby & it grossed her out. I'm not really sure she ever believed me.

Grossed me out when I was younger too, since I didn't know what it was. I would pick them out of eggs before scrambling.
