they are side by side, theres only about an inch inbetween those two birds and that jumbo hen is NOT fluffed up that's how big she is lol
you mean chest to chest? I tried that they were running around crying (well the pharaoh was lol). But yes, that jumbo hen is not fluffed even in the slightest that's just how large she is, that bird is 13 ounces.

Because she does look fluffed but nopers not at all she's just a big chunky monkey and the feathers on her back that are misplaced is jus tfrom the roos mating her

So I have some like the 2nd and 3rd picture.. how do you tell if those are male or female??? Any ideas? Mine arent crowing or laying yet.. only 4 weeks.

I think I have two tuxedo's in the new chicks? They look kind of like the second bird. They look like little penguins to me...

I am having a heckava time sexing the older coturnix we have. I did remove a male from the pen cause he crowed when i was in there and he was being aggressive towards the other 4 birds in the pen. And I'm going to assume the two bald ones are hens....

I've read the tutorial on vent sexing- haven't tried that yet. Kristi

I could not tell until they started makeing noise. lol
I had to post pics up on here to see if any one new. The one who told me what they were was right on 2 of them.

The yellow one is a female and the tuxido is a female, the brown one is a male.

They said you can tell by the shape of the head. narrower is male i think.
