I mean, you're correct about the rain (it's raining right now!), but the weather is hardly mild. It can get quite cold, and yesterday we had a blackout it was so windy. We also have thunderstorms and hail. Lots and lots of hail.

And we live in the rain shadow!

I lived on the "wet" side for 30 years. I know how it can be. What I was saying is that what I wrote is how people in the "rest of the world" THINK the weather is in ALL of WA. (I said Seattle because most people know where that is. (And they associate it with rain.) And I NEVER had weather on the wet side like I have experienced on the dry side!

Yep all 5 managed to sneak into that pick. Everyone was gathered up because my wife had bread to give out. Those 5 all have brand new feathers. They went through the molt from hell to get those shiny feathers!

Central and eastern WA are TOTALLY different than the west side of the state. Most people think it is all like the Seattle area. (Fairly mild all seasons and lots of rain) But it is definitely NOT. As I said, here in central WA, it is high desert. (No trees and LOTS of sage brush. And no rain at all for MONTHS at a time in the summer.)

I'm going to get a batch of them straight run and see if I get a flock rooster out of it. Cordon was the first to lay and has been tagged to be the founding hen for my future flock.
