Can I see your horse stall coops?

We recently purchased a farm that comes with a bank barn and 2 horse stalls in the lower portion. I'd like to turn one stall into the chicken coop and would love to see pictures of what some people did. My plan is to use the window for them to access the run. There is a stone foundation on 2 sides, and the other two will be covered with wood and hardware cloth.

I’ll give you one big piece of advice here from the start: don’t do what I did.

See the fatal flaw? Yeah, they had full access to the whole rest of the barn. Awful idea to leave it that way even if it wasn’t for very long. I was still finding eggs for years after.

Eventually I went to Lowe’s and bought some window blinds to block the open space where the majority of them were roosting in that photo and put some leftover hawk netting up to keep them from flying over.

I mounted scrap wood inside on two walls to act as equal level roosts and put up three plastic wall mount nest boxes.

Unfortunately I don’t have any other photos of what it looked like after those upgrades, but I can say it was the best coop I ever had and I would definitely do it again.

Window blinds !?!?! Genius !!

All my coops (4) are in my pole barn with storage lofts above.

I feel your pain as everyday they want to get up there and lay eggs in the spare bags of bedding. I've got chicken wire stood up over one coop but that's a pain if I need to get up there.
I've got some blinds and even a couple of them pull down shades I've been hanging onto just in case.
