Can I seriously build a coop?

First go to Home Depot and/or Lowes, etc. to take a close look at how they constructed the outrageously-expensive sheds that they have for sale out in their parking lots. Note how the corners, studs (16 inches apart), windows, floor, ceiling, walls are all put together.

Edit: Take your camera, measuring tape, pencil, and note paper.

Darn it...I just got back from Lowe's and didn't check them out. I did buy a book on building sheds though. I figure I need to read up on how to do some framing. It really can't be that hard, right?

Alright.. Enough research.. Go buy some wood and get that floor down.. The rest falls into place after that..

You're probably already doing this but a good idea is to scroll through this coop section at the postings and take a look at what others have built. Go to their BYC page as well because often there are some construction pics. I know I got a lot of good ideas by looking at how others put their coops together. My BYC page has a few pics of the coop I'm finishing up this weekend.

I just put my chicks in my coop yesterday. I tell ya no matter how it looks or how hard it was to put it together, to see them run around and enoy it made it all worthwhile.
