Can i sleep in on weekends and let the birds out late?

My hubby usually lets my chickens out for me during the week when he gets up for work. I take out fresh water and give them their scratch. On the weekends I let them out when I am up and moving around good, unless my hubby lets them out for me. It is something to see when you finally let them out.... it's a chicken flood!!!!!  only have 12.

this is very off topic but so you put their feed in a feed bowl/feeder or just throw it on the ground? I'm wondering if I should try putting is on the ground in their run so they look foe bugs as well..

chickendude9 I have their regular food/feed in a feeder. Only the chicken scratch gets tossed on the ground. They will look for worms and insects on their own. But personally I keep their feed in the feeder to keep mice, rats, snakes, ect out of the coop. That could be disaster if something gets in the coop after the feed.
