I've been feeding non-medicated starter feed from TSC for my chicks first 2 1/2 weeks. I'm down to the end of the bag and i would like to switch to medicated starter. Would this harm their systems, and should I ween them onto it? Or can I just switch them over?

Medicated is the kind they need....but don't use medicated for baby duck's or geese

Yes its ok to switch them over to the medicated feed. Yesterday I read that if the level of protein is different it might be good to mix it alittle for the first day or two, though my chicks had no problem going from the TSC 20% protein to a 18% protein starter.

I used the TSC starter feed for my chicks for their first 10 days or so. Now I'm using a different feed (I was able to find a non-medicated feed at a local feed company), but i'm still using the Non-medicated TSC 20% starter feed for my goslings and duckies.

My chicks were vaccinated for Coccidiosis so i don't use medicated feed, but if yours weren't vaccinated for Cocci, I think your idea of going with a medicated feed is a good idea.
