Can I take chicks into my daughters class?

I had forgotten this until I just saw your post, but in the first grade I had my mother bring in our chicks for Show and Tell. Do they still do Show and Tell? I used to love that. Well, the chicks were a huge hit. The teacher made sure everyone was gentle, and my mom stayed long enough for show and tell, and then brought the chicks right back home. Things were a little (a lot) more laid back then, but I don't see why it would be a bad thing. Just have everyone wash their hands afterward as others have said and don't let kids be rough. I remember suddenly being the popular kid that week!

Oh you will be the mommy with the most popular little girl, the smile on her face when all of the other kids see her new friends. Not only will it be a wonderful experience for her, but just think of all the info you can both pass on to her classmates. How amazing it would be if all children had the chance to see, or hold such soft balls of feathery life and learn to care and love for them, so many kids know only that eggs come from the store and not the real miracle. We took a 9 month old turkey hen for show and tell last week and what started as a visit to one class turned into a school stopping lesson for all 70 students. It was amazing to see even the most "rowdy trouble" child sit and watch with awe as she wondered around the classes and hallways softly doing her little turkey purr as she checked out the desks and chairs. p.s. make sure you take wipes.
