Can I use a grow lamp to heat 1 week old chicks?

I'm wondering if I can use a grow lamp/bulb instead of the red heat lamps bulb. The temp is right, but will the bright light hurt them? They are very active and sleep fine. Thanks.

I would hesitate to do that, they don't see the red light as well as they would white light and don't percieve red light as daylight. Also I would be worried whether the grow bulb was coated with teflon which would kill them
ETA I would also be concerned about damaging their eyes.
