Thank You. I will try and get one tomorrow. No smart phone but maybe I can get one. It doesn't look very good and I think it's a wound even though they are molting. The others don't seem to be picking on her at all. I'll try early tomorrow to get one.Welcome to BYC! Can you get a picture of the wound?
You should only use Peroxide once, it kills not only infected tissue but healthy tissue as well. I'd mix up a saline solution instead, 4 cups warm water, 2 teaspoons of salt. You can use this as often as necessary. She laid an egg today. I looked her over again this morning and it looks like she may have had a run in with something and tore off skin. She is bruised and very sore, limping, hopping. It's not bleeding and did look a bit better. I don't smell infection and it's staying clean. I poured on peroxide then added some Young Living Animal Scents Infect Away and then their salve. I'll do peroxide again tomorrow but no oils. I've seen some nasty molts with Rhode Island Reds. That's all I have is Reds. Tough timber birds. They have a coop and a run and are out twice a day. Got a baby roo roo who will hopefully give me chicks eventually. My next questions will be what incubator to buy. Thanks for all the advice.
