Can I use cedar chips in my coop?

I just use pine shavings. I have always been told cedar is toxic to chickens.

With all the advice to not use cedar...why even consider trying it ...why even mix it in. It really isn't worth $12 of shavings to take a chance on hurting your flock, right?

Get pine shavings and you'll be happy and secure in knowing they are the best choice and for sure safe.

So if I take out some of the ceder, and mix in pine then I will b e OK.

I can put the extra chips in a bin, and save for later.

Sounds like a good plan
