Hey peeps! I'm new here and I will be getting chicks for the first time! My sister had them and now we are going to get new ones together. So to my question...can I use dry grass in my chick brooder? I have research this before, but could only find ones about having dried grass for grown up chickens. Also if dry grass is bad for chicks, can I use dry leaves?
For the curious here is our order:celebrate
1 Silkie
2 Buff Orps
2 Black Australorps
2 Speckled Sussex
1 Barred Plymouth Rock

Hello and welcome to BYC - thanks for joining us. Please make yourself at home. Personally, I wouldn’t use dry grass clipping. I simply used dry soil which works well.

This is a useful link of BYC guides to take a look at announcements-feedback-issues-guides.3 I’d suggest including your location using the guide in the link. You can use this link to contact members in your area - Find your State's thread.
