Can I use dry grass in my chick brooder?

Hey peeps! I'm new here and I will be getting chicks for the first time! My sister had them and now we are going to get new ones together. So to my question...can I use dry grass in my chick brooder? I have research this before, but could only find ones about having dried grass for grown up chickens. Also if dry grass is bad for chicks, can I use dry leaves?
For the curious here is our order
1 Silkie
2 Buff Orps
2 Black Australorps
2 Speckled Sussex
1 Barred Plymouth Rock

I've only tried dry grass once as an experiment bedding for the laying boxes. I don't recommend it at all. I'd use wood chips or shavings, DO NOT USE SAWDUST OR SAND the chicks will eat it and mess up their crop.

I have not tried it but I usually use wood chips for my brooders. You can get a bag for like $5 at a feed store.
You could test out the grass too, I don't see how it could hurt them but I can't recommend it, like I said, I have not tried it.

I've never tried grass, so I cannot help you there. I use pine shavings in my brooder.
