Also are you putting it in their pen or their outside run? I have a thick piece of rubber underneath all my hay in their pens so the floor doesn't rot out but I can't imagine using only that.

We have to rebuild the ducks pool deck and the rubber mats would be nice over the wood I like the idea of using them in the coop too. We usually use mulch in our run and its great to keep down the mud.
