Just curious. Basic grit, not oyster shell is just crushed rock, correct? If so what about using it as part of the landscaping in the same way one could use gravel or bigger rocks? Obviously, it will get scratched at and tossed around but I was thinking of putting thicker layers versus just sprinkling it.

Yes it’ll just be more expensive. Why would you want to do that opposed to normal rock? Just curious 😁

Yes, "grit" is a loose term for crushed up rock/minerals needed in their diet for digestion. People use crushed rock/grit/sand all the time in landscaping - such as DG/decomposed granite

For inside the pen? I guess I was figuring it was something I didn't have to worry about putting down and I have no idea where to get something else like it.
I'm a little confused. Are you wanting to use grit for litter inside the run? I wouldn't recommend it for a variety of reasons, first of which is simply cost. It'd also be a nightmare to clean out... too coarse to sift easily, with the same issue as gravel, where poop will eventually crumble and start decomposing between the stones and cause odor issues.

Like little spots of it. Not across the whole run. But like little spots.. Im not sure how to describe it. But I think youve answered the question.
