I am pretty certain one of my chooks has worms. I already have the Panacur for dogs. It is 22.2% Fenbendazole granules. I am seeing that others are using this to deworm. If it is ok, how much should I use and how often? Or should I just wait until the feed store is open tomorrow and get something specifically for chickens? Thanks!

I hope he can tell me how much to give her! I just got back from a long vacation and she seems really droopy. I guess she has been sick for a while and the pet sitter did not notice. I don't want to wait until tomorrow afternoon (when the feed store opens) to start treatment. I gave her some peaches and plain yogurt, which she seemed to enjoy, and some polyvisol, which she did not, but she still seems out of it :(

Sorry, I've never used panacur granules and cant help you with the dosage. I've used safeguard equine paste and the liquid goat wormer.(10% fenbendazole/panacur.)

Thanks for responding. I am having difficulty finding anything online about the dosage, so I guess I will wait until the feed store opens tomorrow and see what they have.

Perhaps you can find safeguard liquid goat wormer at the feed store. Dosage is given orally undiluted 1/2cc for standard size birds, 1/4cc for smaller birds. Redose again in 10 days. There's a 14 day withdrawal period after last dosing.
