Can i use rabbit nest boxes for my hens nest boxes?

My banty EE and Hamburgs all lay in my rabbits nests ... BUT, my nests are enclosed wooden boxes since the rabbits I had were colony kept and the boxes needed to be more protected. Once I get my new coops/runs built, they will have something more suited to chickes though (they have to duck and squeeze to get into these, but it is still where they choose to lay).

I suppose that all chickens and set ups are different, but mine have always used a rabbit nest box. How would they know it wasn't a chicken nest box?

It's a box with straw in it----it works.
