Can I use Seven Dust for flies???

After only 24 hours since I spread the seven dust, I can already notice a hugh difference in the fly population.

And I am happy to report that I have not seen any adverse reactions from my flock. My ducks actually seemed calmer today with out the constant buzzing of flies!!

I use those fly bags that have the attractant inside. Or I put vinegar/water/sugar to the fill line for less smell. Takes care of alot of flies. Also you can buy a spray called premise spray (usually under horse products), and spray the walls. With the fly trap bags , figure you catch 10,000 flies in it, that would have had offspring that would have had offspring, and will soon add up to a million flies that you will not have. . I have filled the first bag in less than 3 weeks.

I have had great luck with the fly traps. I like the big hanging glue traps. The tapes are hard to handle but cheap.

I wouldn't use sevin dust for flies.

It IS toxic, but when you are dealing with mite infestations (which can kill chickens) it helps to use a chemical.

For flies, I would use something else. The fresh poo will attract flies, even though you might have just shaken something all over.

I like DE for my coop and I believe it helps to keep the flies away once I have removed the fresh piles of poo. I shake it (also I like sweet PDZ) all over the coop in tiny amounts.

With DE, wear a mask as it is fossil shell flour and you don't want to get it in your lungs.

Why would it be harmful for human lungs and not poultry lungs. Chickens have quite sensitive respiratory systems, don't they?

Do not use de around you or your birds, it's not good for you or especially them to breathe. It does next to nothing gor pests.
